Barn Fire 4/5/12

Station 261 responded to a reported Barn Fire located within Chesterfield Fire District #2 the night of Thursday 4/5/12. Chief 2610 arrived on location and assumed command, he reported a fully involved barn with exposures. Deputy 2601 arrived shortly after and went to work with Chesterfield Hose Engine 2621 and Bordentown Township Ladder 3225 in an effort to protect the exposures. Crosswicks Engine 2612 and Joint Base Engine 6731 arrived and began water supply operations, sending their crews forward to assist with protection efforts. Two houses were successfully defended, however due to the heavy fire conditions encountered in the barn coupled with a lack of an immediate water supply a second adjacent barn was also lost. Two alarms were struck during the assignment, bringing units from Chesterfield, Bordentown, Joint Base MDL, Juliustown, Florence, Jacksonville, Mansfield, Cookstown, Jobstown, North Hanover, New Egypt, and Wrightstown. Upon further review of the property lines the barns were found to actually be in North Hanover Township and command was transferred to Chief 4600.

Fire District No. 1 Welcomes Dave Raymond

The Chesterfield-Hamilton Fire District No. 1 is proud to welcome Dave Raymond to it’s staff as a full-time fire fighter. He has previously worked for the district as a per-diem firefighter since 2010. Dave comes to CHFD1 from Julistown’s station 211 where he currently holds the rank of Lieutenant and is Chief of EMS for Station 219. Welcome aboard Dave!

Chesterfield Blood Drive

Budget Passes

The Union Fire Company and the Chesterfield-Hamilton Fire District No. 1 would like to thank all of the residents who came out to vote yesterday for their support. The 2012 budget passed with a vote of 38-6 and both Stanely Lewis and Joe Dubell were re-elected to the position of commissioner. Your support allows us to continue helping you.

From the Burlington County Times:

Incumbents Joseph Dubell (42 votes) and Stanley Lewis (40) won three-year terms.

Voters approved a $474,380 tax levy that is part of a $646,299 budget by a 38-8 margin. The tax rate will increase from 9.6 cents to 9.9 cents per $100 of assessed property value. The owner of a home assessed at the township average of $396,500 will pay $392.53 in fire taxes, an annual increase of $11.89.
