Welcome to Crosswicksfire.org. This is the official website of the Union Fire Company #1 protecting Chesterfield / Hamilton Township Fire District 1. The company is made up of volunteers who are supported Monday-Friday from 7am to 5pm by four career firefighters. We are your fire company providing service to our neighbors since 1822. Feel free to look around the site and learn about us. Your feedback is welcomed as this site is always evolving.

The Union Fire Company is hosting its bi-annual Spaghetti Dinner on Saturday March 21, 2009. Dinner will be served from 3 - 7 pm at the Crosswicks Fire House. Adults are $8, children age 6-12 are $5, and children under age 5 are Free. Take out is also available for $9. We hope to see you there!

National Fire Service and EMS Seat Belt Pledge

Firefighter Christopher Brian Hunton, age 27, was a member of the Amarillo Texas fire department for one year. On April 23, 2005 he fell out of his fire truck responding to an alarm he died two days later from his injuries. Brian was not wearing his seat belt.

The Pledge:
"I pledge to wear my seat belt whenever I am riding in a Fire Department vehicle. I further pledge to insure that all my brother and sister firefighters riding with me wear their seat belts. I am making this pledge willingly; to honor Brian Hunton my brother firefighter because wearing seat belts is the right thing to do."

The Union Fire Company is now the 12th fire company in New Jersey to have 100% compliance. This has been a long standing policy within the company and for the district's paid employees. Now the Union Fire Company is recognized as one of dozen fire companies in the state to comply. For more information visit:

It is with deep regret the Chesterfield-Hamilton Fire District #1 announces that as of January 1, 2009 it will no longer be providing daytime Emergency Medical Services (BLS Ambulance) through the Chesterfield Township Emergency Services Squad. The Fire District was informed via a letter that their "services were no longer needed" from the Chesterfield Township Committee. We have provided this free service to the residents of both fire districts for 4 great years. The Fire District is currently in the process of researching the possibility of first responder care by an “EMS Engine” with our paid employees. We thank you for your support and for allowing us to provide care in your time of need. Have a happy and safe 2009.

The Union Fire Company wishes to thank everyone who gave donations during our annual Santa Run. Whether it was monetary or snacks, it is greatly appreciated. Your donations help us to provide non-firefighting activities to our community (i.e. Santa Run, Splash Day, etc). Unless it was a snack... then it goes to our hungry bellies.
